ABOUT THE WESTON LACROSSE CLUB
MISSION
The mission of the WLC is to "teach and support the game of lacrosse in an environment of safety, respect and FUN." We aim to provide each player on a team the opportunity to compete at a level of play that is best suited for that individual player at his or her level of development each season.
ABOUT THE WESTON LACROSSE CLUB
The Weston Lacrosse Club, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to teach and support the game of lacrosse in an environment of safety, respect and FUN. The club supports boys and girls youth lacrosse in Weston, CT. The club is a member of the Connecticut-New York Lacrosse Association (CONNY), the organizing body for youth lacrosse in Connecticut. The club introduced the game of lacrosse to Weston in 1998. Enrollment increased to 270 youth players and 110 high school players in 2009 from 30 players in 1998.
POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE
The Club follows the youth sports philosophy espoused by the Positive Coaching Alliance, a Stanford University-based organization that with a mission to "transform youth sports so sports can transform youth." The Weston Lacrosse Club, Inc. was one of three organizations nationwide selected as a model youth sports organization by the Positive Coaching Alliance for 2003. We are proud of this designation.
