The DNA of The Weston Lacrosse Club revolves around athletics and community partnership.
We strive to teach our young student athletes that they each can make a difference not only on the field but also in the community.
In 2009, the club began a community service partnership with the Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse Association to help bring the game of lacrosse to student athletes in the inner city schools within Bridgeport.
Since 2009, Weston has helped to support program by donating over $10,000 of gently used lacrosse equipment donated by players who have moved on to the Weston High School program and no longer need youth equipment. The Club also helps fund and participates in the annual Bridgeport Lacrosse Day start-of-season tournament. Teams from Weston High School and the Weston Lacrosse Club compete against other local schools and programs to show the local Bridgeport youth the fun and excitement of lacrosse.
Don Wilson, Founder and President of Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse, is thankful for the mutual friendships created between student athletes in both Bridgeport and Weston. Don uses a phrase from his native Jamaica - "Bless Up!" to express his thanks to Weston. It means may you have continued blessings.
This year Weston's High School team swept the tournament winning against Brunswick, St. Lukes and Fairfield Warde. Weston also fielded a U15 Boys team and a Senior girls club team who shared the field with news friends from the Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse Club.
Thank you to all our players, Coaches and parents for supporting this wonderful community program!
