THE CLEM MALIN AWARD
Annually given by the Weston Lacrosse Club, the Clem Malin Award recognizes one or more eighth grade players in the boys and girls programs who have demonstrated athletic skills, leadership and sportsmanship in the game of lacrosse, as well as academic achievement and community service during their years leading up to high school.
The award honors Clem Malin, a founding member and coach of the Weston Lacrosse Club. Clem is a graduate of Dartmouth College, Class of 1956, where he was a two-time All American lacrosse goalie and standout soccer player. Clem captained both varsity squads at Dartmouth. During his graduate studies at Princeton University he was also an assistant coach of the lacrosse team.
Following a thirty-eight career in the international oil industry and the United States Government, Clem retired in Weston where he remains active in a number of community organizations and activities in addition to coaching lacrosse. His wife Ann attends all of Clem’s games and refers to all of the players that he has coached as “our boys.”
